Lily.....03/01/2011 to 07/24/2020 ❤ ❤ In loving memory of my sweet, loyal and very loving Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Lily. She was one of the laziest, sweetest and the most mellow dogs anyone could ever have. Nothing EVER rattled Lily. In fact, I don't even know if she knew how to bark.....and NEVER heard her growl. During most of her 9 1/2 years of life, she enjoyed it in the most peaceful way possible, with the exception of her first two puppy years. She was an absolute adorable terror up until she was 2. Luckily, my son had her during those terrible years. lol. As she got older and larger, she was extremely scary looking. People often remarked how they were terrified of her, but what they did not realize is that it was her 5 lb little sister that they needed to worry about. That is so typical of these dogs...and the false reputation they have. Lily lived her 9 1/2 years as a happy, healthy and spoiled indoor dog, who never wanted for anything. She had a doggy door and free roam of the yard to run, jump, play and to take care of her needs at any time of the day. Usually, though, we found her inside sleeping or begging for a snack. Her hobbies included sleeping, eating, taking my spot on the couch, and going for long slow walks. Her most annoying hobbies were her love of eating.....constantly eating, stealing from the other dogs.....and unfortunately, chasing innocent bunny rabbits. She assisted in pet fostering, cleaning and doing everything that a big doggy sister does. Since she was never allowed to have her own babies, we allowed her to be a foster mother to everything else....except bunny rabbits. She was a good surrogate foster mommy. Her only weakness was toe nail chewing. That was a habit she had since she was a baby. I am not sure why or what caused her to bite them but, as a person who picked up nail biting as a child too, it was a habit we both shared....together.....constantly.....biting away while we watched TV. LOL We definitely understood each other. Nail biters understand each other that way and accept the fact that we will never have those beautiful nails....or in Lily's case, toenails. She leaves behind myself and my husband (mom and dad), Tim and Brandi (human brother and sister), Victoria and Alexandra ( cousins) and her doggy brothers and sisters; Stormy, Bruce, Buster, Pepper, Rocky (her new foster brother) and Maverick. Lily, you were a sweet dog. We love you. You were a great example of a very loving pit bull terrier, who never lived up to the horrible reputations that we try so hard to stop. You were the epitome of what this breed is all about....lovable and loyal. I have so many memories.....that are now filled with tears.
