Statement

They say that dog is man’s best friend, but Caramelo was mine. Whenever I walked into the room, he was sure to be there, his eyes gazing up into mine. No day was ever dark if he was around, and just a glimpse of his sparkling eyes was sure to turn any frown upside down. If ever I were to be having a bad day, all I would have to do is turn to Caramelo, and instantly, all my troubles would go away. With his sweet voice, he led the choir in perfect harmony, wheeking at the top of his lungs. It was always wonderful to awaken to the sound of his singing, and watching him as he ran around in circles, waiting for a tomato, his favorite snack. Caramelo loved attention as well. He would turn over the igloos in his tiki and he’d stand up tall on his hind legs, waiting for someone to notice him. He also enjoyed a nice bath; he would lay on his back and let the water flow onto his belly. But now that he has passed, the house sits in silence. An orchestra without a maestro, the choir does not sing...
